A Note from the Director

Summer has begun! For some folks that means a respite at the end of the academic year - for others it is the start of planning for fall term and a new academic year. At HatchBridge, it means onboarding new personnel, evaluating our programs, scheduling our offerings going forward, and continuing to support the companies and builders who make up our community. New staff begin on July 6; make plans to attend one of our events highlighted below to meet them!

Upcoming Events

Resident Roundtable

Friday, July 10
10:00 am - 11:00 am | 📍HatchBridge Incubator

Resident Roundtable is a peer-driven support forum for HatchBridge residents. Facilitated by HatchBridge staff, it is designed to help active founders share insights, solve problems, and accelerate their journey through mutual support and collaboration.

This is not another lecture or formal workshop. It is a dedicated space where founders bring what they are navigating right now and lean on the experience, ideas, and input of others who are building alongside them.

Instructor
A HatchBridge Staff Member will facilitate the peer discussion.

Who Should Attend
Active HatchBridge residents who are currently building and want a structured space to share what they are navigating, get input from peers, and contribute from their own experience.

BuildIt! Digital: AI Afternoon (Office Hours)

Feel free to bring your own lunch.

Instructor
Laila Harrison, AI Strategist and KSU Researcher

About the Instructor
Laila Harrison is a creative technologist and AI strategist who helps people make sense of AI in ways that feel supportive instead of overwhelming. At our Open House, we’ll share a quick overview of what we offer, from early-stage venture support and idea validation to commercialization pathways for KSU faculty bringing research to market. More than anything, it’s a chance to meet the people, ask questions, and see if HatchBridge feels like the right fit for you.

Who Should Attend
Anyone exploring whether HatchBridge is the right fit for them — early-stage founders, people working on an idea they have not fully committed to yet, small business owners looking for support and community, and KSU faculty interested in commercialization pathways. No prior business experience required.

Slice & Advice: Stuck or Stalled? Customer Discovery Crash Course

Friday, July 31
Noon - 1:30 pm | 📍HatchBridge Incubator

You keep hearing it. In coaching sessions, at office hours, from every mentor who looks at your idea: “Have you done your customer discovery? How many interviews?” You nod along, but the truth is you are not totally sure what they mean, and you are tired of pretending. Good news: you are exactly who this session is for. This Slice & Advice is a no-judgment crash course in customer discovery, built for founders who feel stuck and keep getting pointed toward a process nobody has actually explained. Lauren Lange will start at the beginning: what it is, why it unsticks stalled businesses, and how to do your first interviews without overthinking it. Bring your idea. You will leave knowing exactly what to do next and who to call first.

Instructor
Lauren Lange

About the Instructor
Lauren Lange is a Program Manager at HatchBridge, bringing more than 10 years of innovation ecosystem development to the North Atlanta startup community. She started her career at the Advanced Technology Development Center, the state incubator housed at the Georgia Institute of Technology. During her time there, she helped hundreds of entrepreneurs work through the Customer Discovery process. She earned an M.S. in International Affairs with a focus on Science & Technology and Global Development from Georgia Tech.

Who Should Attend
HatchBridge members and program alumni who feel stuck or stalled and keep hearing about customer discovery from coaches and mentors but are not sure what it means or where to start. No prior experience needed. Useful for early-stage founders who do not yet know who their customer is, what problem they are solving, or how to find out.

~Have a great July!~
