October News

Friends of HatchBridge,
October is a month full of events in the Atlanta startup community as InnovATL 2024 continues to showcase innovation in Atlanta! We had HatchBridge staff and participating entrepreneurs at Venture Atlanta last week, and we attended the Atlanta Startup Awards the week prior.
We have an event tomorrow we'd love to see you at! This Built in the Burbs event is focused on KSU researchers who are working on building businesses to ensure that research has the impact it could. More info is below. Keep on scrolling!
Come say hi when you see HatchBridge staff or startups out and about! We'll look forward to seeing you as we build the Atlanta startup ecosystem together.

Building the Burbs - October 15th

Please plan to join on Tuesday, October 15 from 5:30 to 8pm for a Built in the Burbs focused on the commercialization of Kennesaw State University research.
The event features a lively panel discussion from three KSU researchers that are working to commercialize their innovations in the form of a new startup:
Kyle Gabriel will represent MycoLogic, a company building technology to support mushroom cultivation
Tiffany Roman, Ph.D. will share their progress on Spectrum Play, a tool for elementary school music teachers
Maria Valero will represent GlucoCheck, a non-invasive (no prick!) glucose-monitoring device
We will also showcase Cohort IV of our Hatching Success program. Founders from the HatchBridge community will be on site, sharing insights into their startups and progress during the four-month program.
The event will be at the beautiful Cobb Chamber event space in partnership with SelectCobb, which continues to support entrepreneurship in great ways around Cobb County. See you there!
Cohort 5 - Application opens now!
Applications for Cohort 5 will open soon! Don't miss this opportunity to join our HatchBridge Incubator community.
Hatching Success is a four-month program for early-stage founders. It offers tools and frameworks for launching startups and getting ideas off the ground. Our cohorts meet weekly for an hour to learn pivotal lessons and avoid common entrepreneurial mistakes.
If you're building in the suburbs, don’t miss this chance to get coaching and improve the fundamentals of your early-stage business with the entrepreneurs working within the HatchBridge Incubator!

Incubator Spotlight: Siddharth Sanghavi
We are proud to highlight Siddharth Sanghavi, a HatchBridge Student Fellow majoring in Mechatronics Engineering. Sid has been essential in providing technical support for sourcing, prototyping, and design. This month, he played a key role in designing and printing 3D trophies for our participation in the Atlanta Startup Awards.

Hike with HatchBridge - Friday, Oct 25th
Come join us for our monthly hike on Friday, October 25th, from 8:45 AM to 11 AM.
Our goal is to stimulate engaging discussions, foster new relationships, and enjoy the stunning scenery of Kennesaw Mountain.
The hike is open to everyone in the Atlanta Startup Ecosystem. It’s designed to encourage organic, informal business conversations while improving our health.

Coffee & Commercialization - Nov 7th
We are working to expand access to programs for faculty and graduate students who are innovating on campus.
Join us for Coffee and Commercialization on November 7th from 8:30 a.m. to 10:10 p.m. at the Marietta campus to learn how HatchBridge can help.

Design-a-Thon: 2nd Edition
Last month, we hosted our second edition of Design-a-thon, and we were thrilled to see the outstanding work of our Interaction Design students. Students designed landing pages for GlucoCheck and Spectrum Play for just one week.
They impressed us with their creativity and designs, showcasing their skills in presenting their design decisions with confidence and clarity to real clients. This experience allowed them to refine their design process and apply their talents in a professional setting.
